Being a parent can be tough. Some days you want to run away, fast-forward into your retirement years, or at the very least, sneak away for a spa day.

But for most of us, weekly spa visits just aren’t happening.

So a few years ago, as a mom of two, I started searching for simple ways to make home feel a little more peaceful—a little more like a place I could relax, too.

Enter: the inflatable hot tub.

After a long day of diaper changes and dishes, nothing sounds better than sinking into warm, bubbling water. And once I started researching, I realized there are tons of budget-friendly inflatable tubs perfect for relaxing solo or with the whole family.

But with so many options, how do you figure out what is the best inflatable hot tub?

Good news: I’ve done all the research for you. We’ve now owned TWO different inflatable spas, and this guide will help you find the right one for your family.

Not sure whether to choose an inflatable or a traditional hot tub? I’ve included pros and cons to make that decision easier, too!

How long do inflatable hot tubs last?

Most inflatable hot tubs last between 1–3 years when they’re well taken care of. While they’re a fantastic budget-friendly option, traditional hot tubs still offer more durability and longevity overall.

If long-term use is your top priority, a regular hot tub might be a better investment—but our family has definitely found the shorter lifespan to be worth the lower upfront and maintenance costs.

Can you use an inflatable hot tub in winter?

Yes, you can use an inflatable hot tub in winter, but you’ll want to choose one that performs well in colder climates. (Most hot tubs will note the lowest temperates that you can still operate the tub in.)

Not all inflatable spas maintain heat efficiently in low temperatures, so consider what is the best inflatable hot tub for winter before buying. Bestway, Coleman and Wave all have some great hot tubs with optimal temperature protection.

Are inflatable hot tubs worth it for families?

If you’re on a tight budget or want a portable, space-saving option, inflatable hot tubs can absolutely be worth it for families. They’re more affordable than traditional hot tubs (many under $1,000), easy to set up, and great for creating a relaxing spot at home without the commitment of a permanent spa. We’ve even turned the heat off and used it as a pool for the kids in the summer!

Ultimately, the right choice depends on your needs, but for many families, an inflatable spa offers the perfect blend of fun, relaxation, and affordability.

Best 2-Person Inflatable Spas

A smaller, affordable 2-person inflatable spa is a great way to test if an inflatable hot tub fits your family’s needs. Just check the size, weight capacity, durability reviews, and ease of setup and maintenance. The options below deliver the best mix of comfort and value.

1. Bestway SaluSpa Cancun AirJet Hot Tub

2-person inflatable spa, Saluspa Cancun

Bestway Saluspa Cancun ⭐️ 4.0 stars (281 reviews)

  • Seats: 2-4 adults (most comfortably 2)
  • Best for: Couples or small families looking for an affordable spa experience with year-round use.
  • Price range: $ (Budget-friendly — no second mortgage required!)
  • Standout feature: The Bestway Saluspa Cancun includes Freeze Shield and EnergySense Insulation, making it one of the inflatable spas that’s guaranteed to hold it’s heat well year-round.

The Good: The Freeze Shield option on this tub makes it a great choice for those living in colder temperatures, and many users have noted that the insulation on this model is impressive. Bestway offers great support for the inflatable spas and will help you to replace parts when needed.

The Bad: This spa has a much smaller footprint compared to others. This makes it perfect for tight spaces, but a little less comfortable for taller users. It also does not include a way to control or schedule the spa from your phone.

The Verdict: The Bestway Saluspa Cancun is a small but incredibly durable spa that’s low on the features, but built to last. Typically under $500, it’s a solid choice if you have a smaller household and don’t plan to host in the tub.

2. Coleman Palm Springs AirJet Hot Tub

Best inflatable hot tub - Coleman Palm Springs

Coleman Palm Springs AirJet Hot Tub ⭐️ 4.1 stars (150 reviews)

  • Seats: 4-6 (fits 3–5 kids comfortably)
  • Best for: Small families or couples who want strong heat and relaxing jets
  • Price range: $$
  • Standout feature: Hydromassage-style jets, a power saving timer to create your own heating schedule

The Good:
This tub comfortably fits 2 adults (or 3–5 kids) and consistently heats up to 104°F. It’s built with sturdy materials that let adults sit on the edge, offers cupholders on the pump, includes strong lid clips, and features jets that give a hydromassage-like feel.

The Bad:
Despite the description, fitting 6 adults is unrealistic, and the first heat-up can take around 14 hours. Some users reported trouble reaching customer service, occasional error codes, air leaks, or pump issues—though the liner has a 6-month warranty and the pump a 1-year warranty.

The Verdict:
This is a great choice for couples or small families who want a reliable, good-looking inflatable hot tub without expecting long-term durability. Most reviewers enjoyed 1–2 years of use before encountering any issues.

3. Wave Atlantic 4-Person Hot Tub

Wave inflatable hot tub

Wave Atlantic 4-Person Hot Tub ⭐️ 4.1 stars (1,264 reviews)

  • Seats: 2-4 adults (4 is tight, but do-able)
  • Best for: Someone looking for a sleek design
  • Price range: $
  • Standout feature: If aesthetics are important to you, there’s really no better looking inflatable spas than the ones from Wave.

The Good: 15-Minute Tool-Free Set Up, straightforward instructions.  Integrated 104F Rapid Heating System. Anti-Freeze Protection. Many users mentioned that it holds a steady heat temperature during use

The Bad: Some users have mentioned having trouble getting in contact with Wave for issues like error messages and leaks. If problems arise, you may need to DIY, which may be a dealbreaker for some users.

The Verdict: If your Wave Atlantic Spa shows up without any defects, it gives a great value with a price point under $500. However as a whole, the company seems to be a lot less accessible and harder to work with than other brands like Bestway and Coleman.

Best Large Inflatable Hot Tubs

Sometimes you’re in the mood to bypass alone time in the hot tub and make it a party! Whether you have a large family or want to invite a handful of friends over for some snacks and a bit of hot tubbin’, here are the best large inflatable hot tub options on the market right now.

4. Bestway St. Moritz SaluSpa

inflatable spas - Bestway SaluSpa St Moritz

Bestway St. Moritz SaluSpa ⭐️ 4.2 stars

  • Seats: 5-7
  • Best for: Families / first-time hot tub owners
  • Price range: $$
  • Standout feature: 180 soothing air jets, strong heat retention, app to control spa

The Good:
Setup is very beginner-friendly, with spacious legroom, sturdy materials, and steady heat when the bubbles aren’t running. It fills and heats quickly, the cover holds warmth well, and customer service is reported as responsive.

The Bad:
Some users reported early liner issues, heater shutoffs, or small leaks, and the temperature drops a bit while bubbles run. The filter is also small and can clog quickly depending on use.

The Verdict:
Bestway’s customer service is quick to replace faulty parts, and many owners recommend placing interlocking mats underneath for added comfort. Overall, it’s a sturdy, budget-friendly choice for first-time buyers or small families needing a compact spa.

5.Coleman Sicily SaluSpa

inflatable hot tub winter use

Coleman SaluSpa AirJet ⭐️ 4.0 stars (391 ratings)

  • Seats: 5-7 (fits 4 most comfortably)
  • Best for: Budget-friendly winter use (Freeze Shield Technology)
  • Price range: $$$
  • Standout feature: Powerful jets + sturdy, well-made materials

The Good:
Reviewers say this inflatable spa is sturdy, well-made, and comfortable thanks to its padded bottom and heavy-duty materials. It offers strong, relaxing jets, performs surprisingly well in winter, is easy to maintain, and can be packed up and moved without trouble.

The Bad:
The instructions are confusing, the filters need frequent replacing, and the heater doesn’t hold heat as well as some competitors. Some users received units with early air leaks, the 48-hour timer shutoff can be inconvenient, and the cover snaps can be frustrating.

The Verdict:
Skip the manual and head straight to YouTube for setup. Customer service can be harder to reach, but overall, the Coleman Sicily is still a solid budget choice if you want a hot tub you can use in the winter without the hefty price tag.

6. Intex 28431E PureSpa Plus – 6 person

BEST INFLATABLE HOT TUBS - INTEX PURESPA

INTEX 28431EP PureSpa Plus ⭐️ 4.2 stars (1,829 ratings)

  • Seats: 4-6 (6 is a tight squeeze)
  • Best for: Families who want a comfy, durable inflatable tub with extras
  • Price range: $$$
  • Standout feature: Includes Built-in Hard Water Treatment System, fast heating, two headrests and LED lights

The Good:
This model sets up easily and heats quickly—one reviewer reached 104°F within 24 hours, which is faster than many competitors. It fits 4 adults comfortably, has cushioned walls and flooring, arrives on time through Amazon, and becomes simple to maintain once you learn the chemical routine.

The Bad:
Some buyers received units with leaks, though the manufacturer responded quickly, and the jets aren’t particularly strong. The filter system can require frequent changes, the inflatable headrests deflate easily, and the insulated cover is heavy and difficult to remove alone.

The Verdict:
The PureSpa Plus is a roomy, reliable inflatable hot tub with strong overall reviews, making it a great choice for families wanting a comfortable place to relax together. It’s durable and worth the higher price point, but the heavy cover may not be ideal for solo users.

7. Bestway Hawaii SaluSpa 6 Person

best Inflatable hot tub - Bestway Hawaii

Bestway Hawaii SaluSpa (6-Person) ⭐️ 4.6 stars (73 ratings)

  • Seats: 4 adults comfortably (marketed for 6, but tight)
  • Best for: Families wanting an affordable, beginner-friendly spa
  • Price range: $$
  • Standout feature: Surprisingly strong bubbles, good winter heat retention, app to control hot tub schedule

The Good:
One of my personal favorite reviews of the Bestway Hawaii Saluspa? “This product has literally changed our lives.”

Reviewers say this hot tub is fun for the whole family, easy to maintain once you learn the routine, and has stronger bubbles than expected for an inflatable model. This was the first inflatable hot tub model we owned, and it also holds heat well on cold days.

The Bad:
The included instructions are unclear so using online setup videos is a must. The tub can take a while to heat and filters last only a couple uses. Some customers ran into pump errors and slow customer service, and overall longevity tends to be around 1–2 years.

The Verdict:
This is the hot tub we bought at our first house and we were SO happy with it. Many reviewers recommend placing interlocking mats or foam underneath for added comfort and it was a great move. This is a great choice if you want to test out hot tub life without a major investment—comfortable, enjoyable, and ideal for relaxing with 3–4 adults at a time.

Best inflatable spas

Best Budget Hot Tubs

When you’re on a tight budget but you’re desperate to have a hot tub in your home, there are a few options on the market that have got you covered!

These lower range inflatable hot tubs don’t necessarily rank high for longevity and durability. But they are relatively easy to set up, tear down and move when you need to. Here are the best budget hot tub options on the market.

8. SaluSpa Monterey AirJet

Monterey inflatable hot tub - best inflatable spa

Saluspa Monterey Airjet ⭐️3.9 stars 1,566 ratings

  • Seats: 4 adults
  • Best for: Anyone wanting to test the hot tub “waters without a big expense or a lot of features.
  • Price range: $
  • Standout feature: This spa is normally under $300, but offers a spacious experience for the price with strong bubbles

The Good:  This is a small spa at a great price without all the bells and whistles of the more expensive models. It’s easy to set up, take down, and travel with you. Some reviewers mentioned the tub heats up surprisingly quickly and the bubble feature is a strong addition to make the tub enjoyable.

The Bad: While the price point for this inflatable hot tub is great, it does seem to have a harder time holding in heat and staying insulated. That means once you’re in, you may have a shorter amount of time soaking and enjoying with the water actually at top temperatures. Some reviewers also had trouble getting any sort of customer service support for problems with their spa.

The Verdict: If you have a very limited budget and you don’t need your spa to last for multiple years/seasons, the Saluspa Monterey is a great bet. Just expect that when maintenance issues do eventually arise, you’ll most likely need to pick up a new model.

9. RELXTIME 4 Person Inflatable Spa

relaxtime 4 person inflatable spa - Budget inflatable hot tub

RELXTIME 4 Person Inflatable Spa ⭐️ 4.3 stars 46 ratings

  • Seats: 2-3 adults
  • Best for: If you want to try out a hot tub and don’t need a lot of features or support.
  • Price range: $
  • Standout feature: A fun color and all the basic features needed in a small, space-saving package.

The Good: The Relaxtime spa is simple and small, but it does include built in seat cushions unlike many other models. They’ve also included a freeze protection feature, and multiple users mentioned their electric bills barely budged, even with the tub in regular use.

The Bad: This model has 110 jets versus the 140 jets on models from Bestway and Wave. Users have mentioned the cover to the hot tub being flimsy and lacking durability. It also includes vague directions for setup and troubleshooting when there is a problem, and the spa doesn’t hold it’s heat well.

The Verdict: If you have a very small space you want to fit a good looking inflatable hot tub into, this might be the best, most affordable tub for you. However the RELAXTIME spa doesn’t seem to be built for long-term durabilty and heat does not hold as well as some of the bigger brands.

9. SaluSpa Madrid SMart AirJet

Best inflatable hot tubs - saluspa madrid

Saluspa Madrid Smart Airject ⭐️ 4.1 stars, 320 ratings

  • Seats: 2 adults
  • Best for: A tech-enabled spa for relaxing solo or with a friend
  • Price range: $
  • Stand out Feature: It’s compatible with the Bestway SmartSpa App that let’s you control the temperature, timer, and massage system from anywhere.

The Good: This spa has a cool woodsy look and some great features packed into it’s small package. It works with the Bestway SmartSpa app that lets you manage your hot tub on the go. It also includes FreezeShield to use it in colder weather, and includes 120 jets despite its small size.

The Bad: Some users have had issues keeping the spa connected to their wifi for connection with the app. Error codes are common, though fixable, and most have noticed you can go about a year or two before the tub stops holding air well.

The Verdict: This spa gives you name-brand support, but right at or under that $400 range. It’s not the tub choice for holding temperature, but it’s a solid buy for a tub with convenient features.

10. SaluSpa Hollywood Hot Tub

Saluspa hollywood best inflatable hot tub

SaluSpa Hollywood (Bestway or Coleman) ⭐️ 3.8 stars, 30 ratings

  • Seats: 4-5 adults
  • Best for: A mid-sized spa with fun add-ons and features included
  • Price range: $$$
  • Stand out Feature: The spa includes filter, headrests, LED lights and a controllable remote – perfect for a hot tub party

The Good: The Saluspa Hollywood (now being sold as Bestway Saluspa Hollywood) is our current inflatable hot tub and let me tell you this – our kids LOVE IT. This one is a pretty good size and our family of 4 are able to enjoy it comfortably. The LED lights included give the hot tub a fun vibe. It holds heat well, includes their FreezeShield technology and is super durable.

The Bad: Before moving, we previously owned the Bestway Hawaii, and I really miss the wifi feature included with that model. The Saluspa Hollywood is not wifi enabled, so you’ll need to manually control your hot tub at home. I also find I’ve had to refill the lid with air multiple times.

The Verdict: This is a great tub that holds up even with a beating from active kids. It holds heat well and warms up fairly quickly, while the headrests and lights add a fun, relaxing touch. While I wish it was app-enabled, it’s still a great bang for your buck and I recommend.
